二、Brief Introduction
Library, Information & Archive Management is a 1 level discipline is Sichuan University. Master’s degree of Library Science, Information Science, and Archival Science are available. The discipline structure of faculty is reasonable, providing strong support for teaching and research. There are 26 full-time faculties, including 9 professors, 10 associate professors, 11 PHD, and 10 part-time professors, from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan University, Nanjing University. In recent years, faculties published more than 20 books and more than 200 CSSCI papers, while students published more than 100 papers, many of them were abstracted by 《Xinhua Abstract》. More than 30 research projects were founded by the national social science fund orSichuanprovincial social science fund; research achievements were awarded national prize in science and technology orSichuanprovincial prize in philosophy and social science.
The Library Science graduate education inSichuanUniversitystarted from 1990. In 1998,SichuanUniversityand Chengdu Information Center of ChineseacademyofSciencesjointly launched the Master’s Degree education of Library Science in west southChinabased on the approval of the ministry of education. Graduate mainly to: libraries, various information management institutions or the information management department in enterprises. Property Issues Related to Information Resource, Information Resource Access and Utilization, Information Service Planning, Running and Evaluation, Principle of Library Science, etc.
The Information Science graduate education was established in 1990, and started admitting students in 2004. Some outstanding graduates went to the domestic and foreign university for further study, and a large number of graduates engaged in data analysis, information retrieval, information services, information systems analysis, information user behavior and requirement analysis in enterprise-business, government agency, university, hospital or bank. The core courses include: research on information resource management, research methods of information management, information retrieval theory and technology, information architecture and service design, modern information technology and service research, research on technologies and methods of knowledge management, information systems analysis and design, strategic management and competitive intelligence, etc.
The Archival Science graduate education inSichuanUniversitystarted from the 1980's and got the Master's Degree award authority in 2000. It trains senior managers who engage in records management, archives administration and relevant teaching and research at government agencies, enterprises. Postgraduates Specialization in Archival Sciences find employment in a variety of settings, including general of fices, archival departments, information centers, human resource administrative departments of government or army; various types of archives, records centers; national archival administrations; archival teaching and research institutions, etc. Main courses include: Foundation Theories of Archival Science, Archives Management Methods Research, Of ficial Records Management Research, E-government & Electronic Records Management Research, Enterprise Records & Archives Management Research, Archival Administration Research, Comparative Archival Science etc.
