A visit to our school, Trent University, Nottingham, UK

In the afternoon of March 3, 2017, Stephen Williams, director of the International Department of Trent University, Nottingham, and a Chinese project manager, Liu Pei, visited our school for a friendly exchange visit. Professor Xia Zhiqiang, Professor Wu Min and teacher Wu Jing, vice president of the school of public management, and teacher Wang Wei and Liao Simi, the director of the European project of the school's international cooperation and exchange office, attended the meeting.
First of all, vice president Xia Zhiqiang on behalf of the school of Public Administration expressed a warm welcome to the director of Stephen Williams. Next, he introduced the history, discipline setting, and the development of international exchanges and cooperation. The vice president of Xia Zhiqiang stressed that in recent years, our school has attached great importance to the exchanges and cooperation with international well-known universities and institutes, and is committed to the training of international talents and has established a good cooperative relationship with many well-known universities. Among them, our institute also attaches great importance to the cooperation with the Trent University in Nottingham, UK, and hopes to further deepen cooperation and expand cooperation from students' exchanges and teachers' exchanges to the internationalization of scientific research in the hope of actively promoting the two degree program of "3+1" and "1+1+1".
Stephen Williams, first of all, expressed his appreciation for the hospitality of the school of public management, and expressed his love for the city of Sichuan University and Chengdu, and expressed his admiration for the achievements of the Institute in the international development. At the same time, he also mentioned that, based on a long-term and stable friendly relationship, the Trent University in Nottingham, UK attaches great importance to the cooperation with our school and our institute, and will also actively promote the cooperation and exchanges with the public management school, looking forward to a closer partnership in the future.
Then, the two sides discussed the preparatory work of the "China British Local Governance Forum", which was to be held in Nottingham, Nottingham, in July this year, combing the present preparation and planning for the follow-up work. Finally, both sides expressed the expectation that the conference could open a new chapter for cooperation between the two schools.
